7 Places To See Local Street Art That Tells Of Singapore’s Past

You don’t have to go to a museum or an art gallery to learn more about Singapore’s history, culture and art. Our streets are embellished with wall murals that tell beautiful stories of Singapore. Tucked away in historic districts like Chinatown and Little India, the murals trace out unique trails for a budget-friendly romantic date or day out with friends and family!

We’ve picked out seven of our favourite spots in Singapore to find gorgeous street art – all you have to do is get your camera ready, strap on your walking shoes, and strike your best pose for the ‘gram.

7. Amoy Street Food Centre

The next time you have lunch at the Amoy Street Food Centre, don’t forget to stop by the back of the hawker centre for a visual feast. Spread across five wall panels at the first floor are intricate murals of dragons, old street food trucks and shophouses. Painted by students and teachers from three different Anglo-Chinese Schools, they commemorate the institution’s origins at 70 Amoy Street. Local artist Ceno2 also lent a hand and contributed an eccentric mural of a samsui woman throwing up a rocker sign, which has fast become a crowd favourite.
