After months have passed without a culprit in her daughter’s murder case, Mildred Hayes commissioned three signs leading into her town with a controversial message directed at the town’s revered chief of police. The dark comedy drama was named one of the top 10 films of the year by the American Film Institutes and was nominated for six Golden Globes including Best Motion Picture – Drama and Best Screenplay.
