The Chamber Charms series, curated by Concertmaster and Section Leader (Strings) Li Baoshun and Erhu I Principal Zhao Jianhua, will present “Night of Bowed-Strings,” featuring a repertoire that encompasses both Chinese and Western string masterpieces. Highlight compositions include “Killing the Tiger,” “Ascending the Mountain,” “Reflection of the Moon on Erquan,” and “Bows and Strings.” Additionally, the concert will feature an erhu rendition of excerpts from Bach’s Concerto in A Minor. By exploring the intersection of Eastern and Western influences, the Shanghai Chinese Orchestra aims to unveil unique musical expressions inherent in bowed-string instruments.
