Elton John – internationally renowned pianist and singer, gay icon and addiction survivor. For a person with such an extraordinary life that’s largely in the public eye, a biopic is almost inevitable. Rocketman follows the successes of two huge music-based movies A Star Is Born and Bohemian Rhapsody last year, starring Taron Egerton as the fabulous Elton John. The musical biopic looks back at the early years of John’s career, and his battles with drug addiction, depression, his sexuality… all while searching for love. Featuring many of John’s most famous songs, the movie looks to be as full of energy and riveting as its subject.
Release date: 13 June
