A Series Of Unfortunate Events

If you enjoyed the movie rendition of the best-selling “Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events” books by Daniel Handler, look out for this television series – the first to be based on the novels.

“A Series of Unfortunate Events” returns as an eight-episode Netflix original series and will premiere on 13 Jan, 2017. It recounts the tragic tale of the Baudelaire orphans – Violet, Klaus and Sunny – whose evil guardian Count Olaf will stop at nothing to get his hands on their inheritance.

The siblings must outsmart Olaf at every turn, foiling his many devious plans and disguises, in order to discover clues to their parents’ mysterious death.

Award-winning actor Neil Patrick Harris (“How I Met Your Mother”, Gone Girl) appears as the greedy Olaf, who will plot and scheme through villainous comedy and song numbers. What a transformation it is from the clean-cut Barney Stinson we’ve come to know him for:

The series also stars Patrick Warburton as Lemony Snicket, Joan Cusack as Justice Strauss, Malina Weissman as Violet and Louis Hynes as Klaus. It was executive-produced by Emmy Award-winner Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black, The Addams Family) and Lemony Snicket himself, AKA Daniel Handler.

“A Series of Unfortunate Events” premieres on Netflix on 13 Jan, 2017.
