The YG Family has a close bond that translates into great chemistry on stage
This weekend has a great lot in store for fans of the YG Family. A score of the South Korean agency’s top-billing acts will be putting on their first collaborative performance here – and Singapore’s the only stop in Southeast Asia. Let’s drop some names: BIGBANG, 2NE1, Psy, Epik High, and emerging band Winner.
If you’re going to miss out on this explosive event, I feel you. I wish I could be dancing to a live mix of Fantastic Baby vs I’m the Best vs Gentleman too, or something along that line. But you can still get your fix of the YG family! Here are some of the best moments of the press conference that just ended.
1. Where’s Seungri of BIGBANG?
We received word that Seungri had met with a car accident in Seoul this morning and won’t be joining the YG tour. But not to worry folks, he’s making speedy recovery in hospital! Godspeed recovery, Seungri!
2. Keep calm and carry on

Despite the unfortunate news, the stars were able to keep the mood light. They were laughing at each other’s jokes too, in true family spirit.
3. Lemme take a selfie

Halfway through the conference, the singers started testing the Samsung mobiles on their tables. And what better way to test a phone than by taking a high-res selfie?
4. Hot hot heat
Shortly after Epik High’s Tablo confidently stated he loves Singapore’s weather, 2NE1’s Sandara Park came out with a daring ‘confession’. In a friendly squabble, BIGBANG’s T.O.P. goaded Dara into doing a movie crying scene on the spot. In retort, she quipped, “I’d rather do a kiss scene with…” Who? Turns out fellow artist Mithra Jin from Epik High was her choice! Click here to see their playful teasing in action.
5. Big tease
When asked what fans can expect at the YG Family Concert, the singers played the mystery card on us. “We want to keep it a secret!” said Winner’s members. Now we know how they keep us strung along!
6. One big family
But one thing’s for sure – this collaborative stage is going to be phenomenal. BIGBANG’s T.O.P. stated that the band’s work is inspired by Winner – “because they’re winners” – and the latter agreed vice-versa. Winner even joked that they would love to do a collaboration with YG’s boss in rap and dance. Well, we’ll hold you guys to that!
