We were lucky enough to catch a private concert with Natasha Bedingfield in Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral
“Oh, you’re from Singapore! No chewing gum, right?” were the first words Brit songbird, Natasha Bedingfield, said to me when I met her during an exclusive meet-and-greet session. I smiled like a fool and professed my adoration for her music before she moved on to the next guest.
She quietly snuck into Malaysia a few weeks ago to perform for Starwood Preferred Guests at the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral (KLS), and boy, is she a dynamite performer!
With a multitude of hits in the soundtrack of my polytechnic days, I was more than glad to be able to meet her in person. And so were the guests that used their Starpoints to redeem the meet-and-greet as well as the performance. I am pleased to say that she sounds exactly (if not better) than her records.
Fan Girl All The Way
“I’ve had a lot of opportunities to travel all over the world, and I am glad to be in Malaysia to perform at the Aloft Kuala Lumpur Sentral,” said Natasha Bedingfield. “Starwood really put together something magical for their members, and I am excited to share this experience with my fans in Asia.”
And share the experience she did! Natasha sang hits such as “Pocketful of Sunshine”, “These Words”, and a few mash-ups of Police classics and Bruno Mars. She even did an extra song, “Soulmate”, because one of the guests requested it during the meet-and-greet.
It was a very intimate experience held in the ballrooms of Aloft KLS where guests sipped on champagne while dancing to her performance. And for a fan like me, I was more than thrilled to be in such close proximity to the stage and to have spoken a few quick words with her.

As part of the Starwood Preferred Guest programme, Natasha Bedingfield’s private performance was just one in many celebrity shows in the Hear the Music – See The World line-up. Country music darling, Kellie Pickler, performed in the Four Points Sheraton in Nashville shortly after.
