Set during the racial segregation in 1960s United States, Green Book follows the unlikely pairing of a famous African-American pianist Dr Don Shirley (Mahershala Ali) and a bouncer, Tony “Tony Lip” Vallelonga (Viggo Mortensen). Struggling to find new employment, Tony takes on the job of driving Don through the Deep South for his concert tour. Based on real-life events and people, the movie delves deep into the complex racial history of the US, through an inspiring and humorous tale of friendship.
