Fun facts to hype us up for the final season
It's still a while to go until April 2019, so let's have some trivia to tide us over until the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones airs on HBO. We don't mean testing your knowledge to name the family crests or Direwolves; we're talking about what happens on set and behind the camera. So many fascinating things have happened behind the scenes over seven seasons of the hit fantasy series. We've picked 10 little nuggets, and some might surprise even the huge Game of Thrones fans!

3. One of the dragon eggs was a real-life wedding gift to George R.R. Martin
In the show, Illyrio Mopatis gave Daenerys three fossilised dragon eggs as a wedding gift when she married Khal Drogo. The rest, we know, is history. But did you know that the egg props were wedding gifts in real life, too? The Game of Thrones producers gave GRRM one of the dragon egg props as a gift when he married Parris McBride in 2011. Another egg was bought by Jay-Z as a gift for Beyoncé. Guess the last egg is still up for grabs for some other romantic gesture!
