Harry Potter’s childhood home, the Dursleys’ house at Number Four Privet Drive in Little Whinging, Surrey, is now on the market as an actual house on sale.
The site of the Dursleys’ home in the first Harry Potter movie – Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone – this two-storey house is located in Martins Heron, Bracknell. It is being sold for £475,000 (about $840,000) on a nondescript property listing on Chancellors. The lot comes with three bedrooms, a large living space and a sizable garden.
But buyers shouldn’t expect the same interiors as what appears in the 2001 film. The actual house was only used for facade shots in “Sorcerer’s Stone”; the interior was built on a Hollywood set.

In this house, the owners have recently finished a “complete renovation” of the home and “to an extremely high standard”, as described in their listing. Photos of the unit showcase a bright and spacious cottage that’s remarkably different from the dreary Dursley home in Harry Potter.
Soon, a Muggle family will occupy this place. Anyone’s better than the Dursleys, we say.
