During the Lunar New Year period this 2019, China has released a range of blockbusters that crossed milestones and redefine what we know to be Mainland Chinese cinema. Sci-fi fantasy movies are taking over the box office, generating a lot of excitement and sometimes praise from critics and fans alike. Two of the biggest names in Mainland Chinese-Hong Kong cinema, Stephen Chow and Jackie Chan, also make their highly anticipated return to the big screen this year.
