When Fun Home first debuted on Broadway in 2013, it was named Best Musical of the Year by the New York Times. In 2015, it won five Tony Awards, including the coveted Best Musical. This year, local theatre company Pangdemonium is bringing the gem of a show to our shores for the very first time. Based on Alison Bechdel’s best-selling graphic memoir, the piece interacts with Bechdel at three different ages, and reveals a unique childhood as well as a growing understanding of her own sexuality and her uniquely dysfunctional family. In the words of Pangdemonium’s Artistic Directors Adrian and Tracie Pang, Fun Home is “exhilarating, heart wrenching, and moving … a truly unique and unforgettable musical theatre experience”. Get your tickets here.
Fun Home runs from 29 September to 15 October.
