It is the weekend again & here are some ongoing Mid-Autumn Festival activities that you must not miss!

1. Mid–Autumn Festival at Gardens by the Bay
The SG60 edition of the Mid-Autumn Festival at Gardens by the Bay isn’t just about pretty lanterns — it’s a glowing retelling of Singapore’s journey from a fishing village to the bustling metropolis we know today. Across the grounds, nine lantern sets bring history and culture to life, five of which are dedicated to the SG60 theme.
Start at Our Kampong Spirit at Golden Garden, where village scenes evoke the neighbourliness and simplicity of early Singapore life. Then, head towards Dragonfly Lake for Celebrating as One, a massive 20-metre-wide lantern set floating serenely on the water, depicting today’s “vertical kampongs” of HDB flats. Near the Koi Pond, Our Joyful Moments is a nostalgic tribute to provision shops and kopitiams — still fixtures in many heartlands. At the Supertree Grove, Lanterns Through Time shows how lantern designs evolved from tin-can and cellophane to dazzling LED creations, while Mooncake Medley pays homage to the many mooncake traditions across dialect groups, doubling as a stage for free cultural performances.
This year’s edition also adds whimsical local touches with lantern versions of Ang Ku Kueh Girl™ and friends (Curry Puff Boy, Sugee Cake Girl, Roti Prata Boy), blending heritage with playfulness. International friendship is also part of the story: Korea is represented through Guardians of Light: Merlion & Haetae, commemorating 50 years of ties, while Shanghai’s Dream of Butterflies honours 35 years of Singapore–China relations.
Beyond the lanterns, visitors can enjoy carnival games, tea appreciation workshops, lantern-making, and a moon-themed edition of Garden Rhapsody at the Supertrees. Free lantern giveaways will add to the fun on 6 October 2025, the actual Mid-Autumn Festival day. Seniors get a special treat too: S$5 weekday admission to the Flower Dome (U.P. S$8) until 15 October 2025 when signing up for Gardens Rewards.
