One of the few multi-lingual literary festivals in the world, the Singapore Writers Festival (SWF) celebrates the written and spoken word in Singapore’s official languages – English, Malay, Chinese and Tamil.
SWF 2017’s theme is Aram, a Tamil word that zeroes in on the universal concept of ethics. What does being “good” mean? A term filled with rich connotations, Aram exhorts us to ask tough questions regarding conscience, virtue, and societal values, and envisions an ideal which humanity can aspire to.
The festival will be housed in the Civic District this year, amongst historic building like The Arts House, The National Gallery, and the Asian Civilisation Museum.
