Our national bicentennial celebrations are still going strong, and continues now with an exciting event, Find Your Place in History (FYPIH). Currently ongoing on every Friday, Saturday and Sunday (from 7:30pm to 11:30pm) until 7 April, FYPIH sets up a series of seven light projections spread out across the city centre to bring lesser-known and oft-forgotten stories in Singapore’s history out of the shadows. Discover some of the darker moments in our colonial past, such as the tough labour of coolies and Samsui women, riots caused by Chinese secret society activities, and the struggles Indian immigrant communities faced. Look out for the projections installed at various historic points across the city centre, starting\ from the National Library building to the Old Hill Street Police station.
