5. Have a #ThrowbackSaturday this Car-Free Weekend
Ah, nostalgia. We all want to go back to the past sometimes, don’t we? Back to the care-free days of school… And it’s happening this weekend, with Car-Free Weekend’s Our Telok Ayer Stories and #ThrowbackSaturday!
Happening from 29 to 31 March 2019, Our Telok Ayer Stories is a self-guided exploration of Singapore’s oldest streets. Curated by digital video publisher Our Grandfather Story, look forward to art installations and activities inspired by the district’s history, including a street party by Telok Ayer Arts Club, performances from local acts as well as a vintage market with a vinyl listening party on closed streets.
Over at the Civic District of the Central Business District, experience a blast from the past with #ThrowbackSaturday happening on 30 March. The area will be transformed into an outdoor classroom where you can revisit your school days with History and PE Lessons. Challenge your friends with life-sized kampung games, and end off the evening at the School Assembly to watch a free screening of Mean Girls and School of Rock. As a bonus, enjoy 50% off local snacks at the Tuckshop if you come dressed in your school uniforms!
