10. Singapore Art Museum Presents ‘5 Albizias’ by Robert Zhao Renhui

The Singapore Art Museum (SAM) presents “5 Albizias,” a captivating travelling exhibition by artist Robert Zhao Renhui. This thought-provoking showcase explores the fascinating journey of the Albizia tree, from its origins in the Maluku Islands of Indonesia to its widespread presence across Singapore.

Featuring striking visuals of five Albizia trees – four located in Tampines, Punggol, Jurong, and Woodlands, corresponding to the exhibition venues, and one from the Maluku Islands – “5 Albizias” invites viewers to examine the impact of human activities on these spaces and the intricate interplay between the natural and the built environment. By highlighting the resilience of these often-overlooked trees, the exhibition emphasizes their crucial role in rewilding urban landscapes and creating pockets of biodiversity within our city.
