2. Step into a Dutch-inspired field of tulips
Tulipmania is back at Gardens by the Bay, bringing us our own little Amsterdam in the Flower Dome. From now until 20 May, immerse yourself in the beautiful field of tulips and other iconic symbols of the Dutch countryside. Go inside a huge windmill and discover its clockwork mechanism from within. Over 35 varieties of tulips in different stunning colours have been flown in straight from the Netherlands – they even include the red-and-white Tulipa ‘Singapura’ that commemorates the Singapore Bicentennial! A European Fair is also held in conjunction with Tulipmania for the first time, inside the Flower Dome, now until 21 April. Snack on classic Dutch treats such as stroopwafels and gouda cheese, decorate your own pair of wooden clogs, and more. Don’t miss the big Instagram contest by KLM Royal Dutch Airlines from 19 April to 20 May – the grand prize is tickets to Amsterdam!
