Get ready to joget and jive this weekend at Armenian Street Party!
Bringing the vibrant living Peranakan culture up-close to the masses, festival goers can revel in Singaporean favourites, Peranakan-style! Performances and activities will be spread across Armenian Street, Peranakan Museum and lyf@SMU.
Other than tasting Peranakan cuisine such as nyonya laksa and chendol drinks, look out for local acts like Hossan Leong and Fakkah Fuzz, or catch local DJs KiDG (EATMEPOPTART) and A/K/A Sounds (ATTAGIRL!) spinning some groovy tunes. On Friday and Saturday, look out for a spectacular Peranakan fashion show and traditional wedding procession in the evening! Usually an intimate session, the colourful wedding procession will be a sight to behold as visitors witness the rituals of the 12-day traditional Peranakan wedding ceremony. Those who are more interested in hands-on activities would be pleased to know that there will be activities like the Peranakan Beadwork Workshop, Peranakan-Inspired Cookie Tile Piping, Build-Your-Own-Cocktail by Brass Lion Distillery, and a Peranakan Cross-Stitch Party!
