7. Shangri-La was Created at Gardens by the Bay’s Cloud Forest
Mystical, magical, and shrouded in mist, Azaleas of Shangri-La (香格里拉杜鹃天堂) is Cloud Forest’s captivating new floral exhibition. Featuring over 15 varieties of vibrant azaleas in shades of pink, red, yellow, orange, and cream, ranging from petite shrubs at 30cm to towering specimens at 4m, this show transports visitors into an enchanting landscape inspired by the Himalayan countries and regions.
A standout feature is the interpretation of Bhutan’s iconic Tiger’s Nest monastery, showcasing its white-washed walls and pagoda-style roofs adorned in gold. The display also includes an array of traditional herbs native to the Himalayan region, such as lingzhi, cordyceps, and saffron.
The horticulturists have masterfully crafted their interpretation of the earthly paradise of Shangri-La within the cooled conservatory.
