3. Have tea like the Peranakans
In lieu of Singapore’s 52nd birthday, The Lobby Lounge at Intercontinental Singapore has launched its new Classic Afternoon Tea: Straits Heritage ($78 for two) – a three-tiered showcase of iconic Afternoon Tea delights alongside creations inspired by Straits-Chinese cuisine. Offered from now till 19 November 2017, guests can indulge in modern renditions of Peranakan dishes including Ayam Buak Keluak Crostini, Kurobuta Pork Ngo Hiang, Pulut Hitam Chiffon Cake and Chendol Agar Jelly. For those in need of a strong drink, the rum-laden Blue Ginger cocktail will loosen you up with local flavours of Galangal, Gula Melaka and Kaffir Lime that pay homage to our local heritage.
