Giving is truly better than receiving

As we revel in the festive cheer around the city, let's not forget the true spirit of Christmas - giving and sharing, and not just to our immediate family and friends, but also those in need in our community. Back for its third year, Giving Week has lots of fun festivals and activities lined up from 27 November to 5 December, to encourage Singaporeans to embrace the spirit of giving. Look out for our iconic buildings, such as the Esplanade, Singapore Flyer, The Fullerton Hotel, and The National Stadium, lighting up in red for this nation-wide movement this year! We've rounded up 5 awesome activities you and your loved ones can join to have fun while giving back.

4. Dine with a purpose

Hey foodies, there are lots of opportunities this Giving Week for you to give back while enjoying a delicious meal! Thinking of treating your loved ones to an awesome festive hamper? Your gift can be a treat to many others, too, if you purchase a festive hamper from Capella. Now until 21 December, for every hamper purchased, Capella will donate $10 to subsidise veterinary care for the animals in SPCA and underprivileged families with pets. If you’d like a more personal and intimate way to give, d’Good Café is putting up 83 Christmas wishes of underprivileged children from TOUCH Young Arrows on their Christmas trees. The next time you visit the cafe’s Holland Village and Takashimaya branches, you can purchase one of the wishes and deposit the wrapped gifts back at the cafe by 16 December. Other eatery partners this Giving Week include the decadent Plain Vanilla Bakery and Pope Jai Thai.
