Giving is truly better than receiving

As we revel in the festive cheer around the city, let's not forget the true spirit of Christmas - giving and sharing, and not just to our immediate family and friends, but also those in need in our community. Back for its third year, Giving Week has lots of fun festivals and activities lined up from 27 November to 5 December, to encourage Singaporeans to embrace the spirit of giving. Look out for our iconic buildings, such as the Esplanade, Singapore Flyer, The Fullerton Hotel, and The National Stadium, lighting up in red for this nation-wide movement this year! We've rounded up 5 awesome activities you and your loved ones can join to have fun while giving back.

3. Get creative and shop at a carnival for good causes

Party while doing good! The hip area of Club St & Ann Siang Hill is transforming into The Giving Street on 1 December, from 7pm to 10:30pm. Dig into yummy street food while talented performers entertain you, and unleash your own hidden talents by joining the creative workshops – you can pick up skills at everything from parkour to balloon sculpting. Always wanted to give back but not sure how you can? Here’s your chance to get to know more about Singapore’s non-profit organisations and ask them your questions in person! More than 30 non-profits, ground-up movements, and social enterprises will be at the carnival sharing about their mission. Some of them, like Habitat for Humanity, CPAS, and Cat Welfare Society, will also be selling gifts and merchandise for some meaningful shopping!
