If you know a child who loves getting creative with Lego, let them know about this competition to earn you some brownie points.

The toy brand has launched the Lego Friends Designer challenge, where children between the ages of six and 12 years old can design and build the next playset model. The winning idea will be turned into an actual model for the Lego Friends Heartlake City playset, which will be sold at Toys R Us stores worldwide.

The winner will also win a visit to the Lego HQ in Billund, Denmark; participate in the design process of the final model and have a mini-doll with their likeness featured in the playset.

To participate, upload four pictures of the designed model from four different angles, give it a creative title and include a short description of the inspiration behind the creation. All entries must be submitted by the child’s parent via the Lego Facebook application by 28 Feb, 2017.

Locally, one entry can also bag the title of Singapore’s first Lego Designer, and win a 3D2N all-expenses-paid trip to Legoland Malaysia. The winner (one child and one adult) can stay in Lego Friends hotel suite, build your own Lego model with a Master Builder, participate in the ambassador ceremony and more.

There are also three local “Friend of the Week” prizes featuring $200 worth of Lego Friends products. The winners will be announced every Wednesday.

Need some inspiration? Lego Singapore is holding a free workshop on 21 Jan, 2017, at Toys R Us, VivoCity. An experienced Lego builder will take children through exclusive building tips and demonstrations to get their creative juices running. Sessions will run at 11am-12.30pm, 2pm-3.30pm and 5pm-6.30pm, limited to 10 pax on a first-come first-served basis.

Lego Friends is a product range centered on the everyday lives and personalities of five best friends in the fictional Heartlake City. The collaborative contest by Lego and Toys R Us is organised in celebration of the 5th anniversary of Lego Friends.
