There are even special studios for cooking and music

Why do you go to a library? To read and borrow books, study, or just enjoy the cool air-con with your family and friends? Our Singapore public libraries are great for all that, and so much more. With dedicated spaces and classes for certain hobbies, and vibrant designs to engage the littlest readers, each library has something special. To celebrate the new opening of library@harbourfront, we've selected our favourite public libraries and highlight why you should visit them soon, if you haven't already.

5. Geylang East Public Library – For peaceful and quiet spaces

Just a five minutes’ walk away from Aljunied MRT, this library is one of the least crowded public libraries in Singapore. Though we’re so grateful for the peace and quiet, we really can’t figure out why it’s not more popular. It’s stocked with tons of books over two floors, and beautifully designed with wood paneled floors and open spaces. A perfect place to relax and get some reading or work done!
