4. Bishan Public Library – For private pods and beautiful architecture

Buzzfeed named Bishan Public Library one of 49 most breathtaking libraries in the world! The critics concur, presenting the local designers, LOOK Architects, with the International Architecture Award in 2009, for this project. We’re all captivated by the cantilevering stained glass pods protruding from the four-storey building façade, providing visitors a private nook for reading or studying with a beautiful view. The stained glass panels also block out the glare of the sun when it hits that side of the building. A perfect hideout for quiet reflection, like your own tree house!
