Celebrate National Day in a unique way at these events happening this weekend
Maybe you couldn't score those elusive tickets to the National Day Parade, or perhaps you're just looking for a chill day out while celebrating how you adore Singapore.
Here are seven events happening in town this weekend that you can mark into your calendar.

2. One Nation Run 2016
When: 9 Aug
Held for the first time, One Nation Run promises a fun day of exciting highlights at Marina Barrage, with elements of Singapore-inspired icons and symbols to inject a sense of reminiscence of our heritage and cultural roots.
Activities to look out for include the main Jalan Jalan 5km Casual Family Run; Layang Layang Mass Kite Flying; and the Tikam Tikam and Carnival with old-school games like chapteh, five stones and zero point, as well as inflatable bouncy castles and family rides.
The One Nation Run will also attempt to break the record with the most number of participants running with a Singapore flag. Registration is now open at www.onenationrun.sg.
