With so many inventive and international cuisine options popping up around Singapore, sometimes we just want to gorge on a simple bowl or plate of traditional comfort food.
Look no further. It's the month of local food love, and here are five food festivals coming up that will shower you with good old Singapore savouries and sweets.

5. Hawker food street fair – with celeb chefs
Streat is the signature event of the Singapore Food Festival, with a gathering of hawkers and chefs dishing out unique creations and best dishes. Expect a lip-smacking line-up of modern Singapore-inspired food and top-notch Singaporean favourites at great prices.
Taking place on 15-16 Jul, it will feature renowned celebrity chef Susur Lee, Tunglok Heen’s Senior Executive Chef Ken Ling and Restaurant Labyrinth’s chef-owner Han Liguang, who will deliver a five-course menu at a pop-up restaurant on site.
