6. Singapore’s First Ox Tongue Specialty Restaurant Has Opened
Gyutan-Tan, Singapore’s first-ever gyutan (ox tongue) specialty restaurant has opened along Tras Street, presenting succulent gyutan in absolutely exquisite creations. Once you step into the restaurant, you will be warmly welcomed into a casual chic restaurant that exudes a calming vibe, thanks to a modern Japanese-Scandinavian décor that includes vibrant wallpapers of adorable original illustrations depicting whimsical reimaginings of Sendai and Japanese food.
The showstopping Premium Gyutan Shabu-Shabu (S$28, dinner only) is not commonly found in Japan as well. Diners may cook the buttery-fleshed gyutan tableside in a hearty kombu dashi broth, along with an assortment of vegetables and mushrooms, as well as kuzukiri noodles and namafu – a wheat gluten with mochi-like mouthfeel. Other items on the menu include Japanese Dashi Chazuke with Gyutan Shigureni, Gyutan-Tan Mazesoba, Tonteki Plate and more.
Gyutan-Tan is located at 41 Tras Street, Singapore 078980.
