We dropped by Ricciottino at Star Vista looking for our pasta fix – what we got was more than what we bargained for.
Eager to satiate my pasta craving, I came to Ricciottino looking. I had not intended to find a gem so tucked away into Star Vista and you will see why shortly.
Not a salad person
I am not a very salad person, so it was surprising for me that I enjoyed this. Perhaps it is because I skipped past the tomatoes and basil, but olive oil made a wonderful pairing with the mozzarella cheese, providing the right pinch of sour for the mozzarella cheese while making the dish much lighter.
Godsent for my craving
I was hoping for the pasta to be served first and it came true! The pasta looks very plain upon first sight, but the great aroma of its sauce and crabmeat promised more. I took a small bite and oh was I sold.
It was a delectable dish with elements of crabmeat peppering it. They left a generous amount of crabmeat in the pasta and it was irresistible. I particularly loved the creamy tomato sauce, which is quite a twist from the usual.
Their 9′ inch pizzotto is a formidable match for their linguine. It was fantastic with a great crust and bacon bits spread across the pizza. It provided a great crunch against the soft and chewy mushrooms. One slice is simply not enough.
A good dessert decides the meal
I always felt that grand meals deserve equally excellent desserts to end it. So I was happy to have not just one, but three in this case!
Their tiramisu is a non-alcoholic one which makes it a hit among the kids. Their soffiato is a moist, molten cake that went splendidly with their ice cream. But it was their lemon meringue tart that stole the show. The fluffy meringue went perfectly with the soft tart. It was just the right mix of sweet and savoury.
