8 Top Omakase Restaurants To Try In Singapore

Singaporeans are huge fans of Japanese cuisine and this includes Omakase. Omakase means "Leave it up to you", and the chef will decide what goes into their tummy for that meal.

The chef will usually decide on the dishes depending on the catch of the season and the ingredients available on that day. Omakase is usually available at a premium price but are they worth it? Team Weekender has sourced and tried out a few places that we highly recommend!

5. Hamamoto

A modern Japanese restaurant that combines the art of sushi and kaiseki, Hamamoto is defined by its focus on seasonal produce and dishes. As Japan’s pristine waters cool with the autumn chill, plump fish from the deepest seas make their way onto the menu.

Look forward to the silky flesh of the prized kinki (channel rockfish), the likes of kinmeidai (golden eye snapper) and coral orbs of marinated ikura lend a delicate flavor to a gorgeous tray of starters. Taraba-gani (king crabs) from Hokkaido star can also be found on the menu with their irresistible signature is the Ise Ebi Sashimi, pristine raw lobster tail meat set on its shell and crowned with uni and Kaluga caviar.

The Lunch Omakase (from S$280++) comprises a seasonal appetizer, seasonal dish, sushi, and dessert. Dinner is a more elaborate affair where you can choose from the Hamamoto Classic (from S$425++) or the Hamamoto Experience (from S$550++).

Hamamoto is located at 58 Tras St, Singapore 078997.
