Spring and the cherry blossom season are well under way now - if you are not traveling to Japan to witness the pink and white beauties in full bloom, you can still get a taste of sakura here in Singapore. Make it a magical experience by putting together a picnic for you and your loved ones. Fill your picnic basket with the following Japanese snacks and delicacies from various bakeries and markets. Some restaurants have also launched limited edition menus inspired by all things sakura, for a lovely dine-in meal.

4. Sakura Mankai @ Kuriya Japanese Market

Our favourite Japanese market in Singapore is bringing the Japanese cherry blossom season to Singapore in a big way with Sakura Mankai. From 3 April to 5 May, visit the market to find a new range of sakura-themed food and drinks flown in directly from Japan. They include the super popular Sakura mochi, Sakura cookie, Sakura tea and sake, and more Sakura sweets. Pair the snacks with some of the exclusive cherry blossom-inspired sushi creations (all made fresh daily at Kuriya), and you have a perfect sakura meal ready!
