Beat the Singaporean heat with a frosty glass of beer… and ramen?!

Situated beside Rendezvous Hotel, a short walk from Dhoby Ghaut MRT, En Sushi features an extensive menu of authentic Japanese delights that offer incredible value for money, starting from $10.80.
Alright, we’re not completely sold on the idea of ramen paired with the bitterness of beer, but we (thankfully) found out that this is not the case. A clever marketing brainchild by the team at En Sushi, we found out that this is their take on chilled ramen.
This nifty dish features ramen noodles in a chilled umami broth, topped with egg white foam (to look like beer foam). For $22.90, it is served with 3 side dishes: Tori Karaage (Japanese fried chicken), Kaisen Tofu (seafood tofu), and Kakiage Tempura (tempura vegetables).
If you find dipping your chopsticks into the beer glass kind of strange, the best way to eat it is to chug it directly from the glass itself. The Beer Ramen also comes with additional condiments such as seaweed flakes, sesame seeds and spring onions.
The Bara Chirashi ($10.80) featuring generous portions of freshly cut sashimi chunks including salmon, tuna, yellowtail and octopus marinated in En Sushi’s signature soy sauce, and piled atop premium sushi rice. A great option if you’re craving sashimi and don’t want feel like splurging.
If beef is more of your thing, go for the Sliced Beef Steak (100gm), priced at $14.90. With a marbling and taste similar to Wagyu beef, this is definitely a value for money dish.
One of En Sushi’s best sellers is the Spicy Ebi Fry Salmon Aburi Maki ($15.90). Succulent prawns deep fried to perfection in a spicy tempura batter, rolled in sushi rice, topped with smoky aburi salmon slices, and lashings of mentaiko sauce. A match made in heaven indeed.
