An online bakery, known for their Charred Pineapple Cheesecakes and Almond Pecan Toffees, Ree and Mummy has recently opened a new cafe at Katong V that serves up Ree and Mummy’s signature bakes, and more.
Ree and Mummy are owned by the Mummy-and-daughter duo, Celine and Reeyern, who worked together to start a home-baking business, Ree and Mummy during Covid-19 Circuit Breaker to support their family finances.
The duo’s creations were well received, and instead of selling the bakes online, they have recently opened a new cafe that exhibits a homely feel! Ree. Connect by Ree and Mummy at Katong V is a simple and cosy 12-seater that serves up delicious bakes.
There is plenty of cheesecake for cheesecake lovers to rejoice and indulge in. The Charred Pineapple Cheesecake (S$6.50/slice) is their bestseller. Expect light cheesecake with the perfect balance of sweetness from the charred pineapple and the mildly salty and tangy cheese.
The Creamy Caramel Biscoff Cheesecake (S$6.50/slice) is a light and soft, almost mousse-like, cheesecake that is topped generously with the popular Lotus Biscoff that adds not only a buttery/biscuity flavour but also a good textural contrast.
Chocolate fans will love the Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake (S$7.20/slice) that has an Oreo base and is topped with rich hazelnut ganache.
Celine’s husband, Mark Ng has also come up with the yummy gelato creations – Gelato by Ree and Mummy (S$4.00 per single scoop, S$7.50 for double scoops, and an additional $1.00 for premium flavours) to go along with the bakes. Available in assorted flavours, only the finest ingredients are used to deliver rich and creamy gelatos.
Some must-try flavours include Pineapple Cheesecake – the gelato version of Ree and mummy’s Charred Pineapple Cheesecake. The Lemon Tart – a nostalgic ode to Kong Guan’s Lemon Biscuit. The Pistachios – are crowd-favourite for their deep flavour and complete with actual pistachios bits. Finally, the Dark Chocolate – all chocolate and zero dairies!
