Recipe: Chocolate Ondeh Ondeh By Asian Food Channel

Great for chocolate lovers. This dessert is a twist to local ondeh ondeh favourites. Easy and fun to make.

35 mins needed (20 mins for preparation, 15 mins for cooking)

Ingredients

Serves 25 balls

  • 1 cup glutinous rice flour
  • ½ cup tapioca starch
  • pinch of salt
  • ¼ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup water

Fillings

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Garnish

  • 2 cups chocolate rice

Step 2

  • Add chocolate chips to the dough and roll it gently to form a ball.
    Set aside.

  • Place rolled dough into hot water. Leave to cook until it floats up.

  • Using a fine strainer, gently scoop the chocolate balls.
  • Place it on a plate till cool. Try not to place it close together as chocolate balls will stick together.

Tip: Do not overcrowd the pot when boiling the chocolate ondeh ondeh. Leave to cool completely before rolling it onto the chocolate rice.
