The local breakfast favourite, you char kway or you tiao, is commonly-eaten with a hot bowl of porridge, bak kut teh or tau suan dessert, or even tau huay.
You char kway is also popular in other Asian countries. The Vietnamese eat it with their pho (Vietnamese beef noodles).

Mr Youtiao also uses the crullers like bread with ‘sandwiches’, filled with otak, chicken satay or tuna mayonnaise. An interesting version indeed.

You Tiao Man
This stall also sells other traditional fried snacks such as ham chin peng and the “butterfly”. The you tiao is crispy and does not go hard even after leaving out for a few hours.
