New Environment, Same Homely Vibes

Starting a new chapter at Duxton Hill, Kilo Kitchen has come a long way from its humble beginnings at Kampong Bugis. The move also reunites Kilo Kitchen with its sister property, Kilo Lounge- just a stone’s throw down the road, and promises customers a rewarding night out with great food and conversation, as well as soulful music and vibes at both of its establishments.

Executive Chef Manel Valero returns to helm the kitchen at Kilo after his sabbatical and brings with him a renewed perspective on Kilo’s brand of modern comfort food. One of the new highlights of the kitchen is the open flame wood fired grill- using a mix of  apple, cherry and jarrah woods for the right smoking point and optimal heat.

With the focus of the opening menu being the elevation of existing signature dishes, diners can expect the same kind of finesse as with Kilo’s popular snacks like the Grilled Baby Corn ($12.00), a classic twist on the Mexican elotes featuring chipotle and furikake. Also don’t miss out on the Grilled Avocado ($10.00) with crispy buckwheat puffs and yuba.

Signature small plates include the Wasabi Tuna Tartare ($22.00), served with baby greens and a nori dusted crisp; and Kilo’s Seafood Ceviche
($23.00) of tuna, octopus and snapper in a zesty dressing so good you can’t help but finish the entire plate!

Large sharing plates come in the form of grilled dishes including the BBQ
Pork Ribs ($36.00) with charred scallions and Grilled Lamb Shank ($35.00) with roasted peppers, fresh herbs and za’atar bread. We also highly recommend that you try their sides like the Burnt Carrots ($12.00) with curried ghee and the Charred Kale Salad ($14.00) with grilled plums and ricotta.

If you’re looking for good tipples to enjoy your meal with, look no further than with their signature cocktails, inspired by a range of drinking cultures across the globe. Take a trip to the middle east with the Nuita Marrakech ($19.00), an intoxicating concoction of vanilla-infused vodka, homemade banana cinnamon liqueur, jasmine tea, lemon, egg white and oriental bitters; or turn things up a notch with their Spicy Margarita ($19.00), a tongue-tingling, salt-rimmed slushy of jalapeño-infused tequila, citrus, sour mix and lime.
