FLIPPER’S has made its debut with a flagship store at Takashimaya Shopping Centre, Singapore!
A cult favourite that trailblazed the soufflé pancake trend in Japan and around the world, FLIPPER’S originated in Tokyo in 2014. It is highly-lauded for its inimitable kiseki or ‘miracle’ pancake that sets it apart from its counterparts.
FLIPPER’S has also been known to send customers into a frenzy whenever it opens in a city. Wall Street Journal reported, “a near-constant stream of people waiting their turn to try the extra-fluffy but not-too-sweet concoction that is making its stateside debut” when the brand opened in SOHO New York.
The new Singapore flagship store is the brand’s first foray into Southeast Asia. The store offers a compact menu of both sweet and savory favourites from FLIPPER’S classic menu. Irresistibly fluffy and pillow-soft with a melt-in-the-mouth texture, each handcrafted treat is made according to a proprietary recipe rendered after extensive research and development. The ‘golden ratio’ formula comprising ingredients that are weighed and measured down to a single gram in order to attain the perfect balance of taste and texture; a true ‘miracle’!
A FLIPPER’S classic, Kiseki Pancake Plain (S$16.80) is your Must-try! Three ‘fuwa fuwa’ (jiggly) soufflé pancakes crowned with a generous dollop of FLIPPER’S proprietary maple whipped cream made with Canadian pure maple syrup and French butter. Light, and sweet with a hint of savory, the smooth cream adds flavour without overpowering the aromatic stack.
To celebrate the opening of the café, Millennial Strawberry(S$20.80) is introduced. This exclusive seasonal special is only available for a limited time only until 30 November 2020. The special edition Millennial Strawberry is a dreamy creation featuring sweet and tangy fresh Chitose strawberries, velvety cream cheese and homemade strawberry jelly sandwiched between delicate soufflé pancakes cloaked in a handcrafted strawberries-blended cream.
If you love savory food, they have savory items on the menu as well. We strongly recommend you to give Eggs Benedict Soufflé Pancake (S$22.80) a try if you love salmon. Hinata eggs from Kanagawa prefecture take center-stage in FLIPPER’S interpretation of this classic. Two perfectly poached eggs sit atop two soufflé pancakes. One is crowned with grilled tiger prawns and avocado cubes, while the other is with Norwegian smoked salmon and sautéed spinach. A generous lashing of Hollandaise sauce with a sprinkle of paprika provides a slightly tangy and spicy finish.
Known for its seasonal menu featuring Japanese produce, FLIPPER’S in Singapore will also offer specials after its initial launch period. Fans can look forward to kiseki pancakes starring fresh Japanese fruits such as Yubari melon, white peach and Shine Muscat grapes.
FLIPPER’S Singapore is located at Takashimaya S.C., Ngee Ann City, 391A Orchard Rd, #B1-56, Singapore 238873.
