Get ready to “see the world through coffee” – coffee from % Arabica, that is!
That’s right; the renowned and wildly popular coffee chain from Kyoto, Japan, is finally setting up shop in our shores. The company posted on its official Instagram last month that 56 Arab Street will be home to Singapore’s first % Arabica coffee shop.
While no specific date has been announced yet, they did mention in the comments that the Singapore shop might open about three months from now.
Although the coffee shop made its name in Kyoto, founder and owner Kenneth Shoji opened the very first % Arabica shop in Hong Kong, in 2013. To date, the coffee chain boasts 24 branches in nine countries, with the biggest one in Shanghai. In addition to Singapore, % Arabica is also planning to spread its famous coffee to places as close as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, and as far as the UK and US.
Widely loved for their top quality coffees, % Arabica sources their coffee beans from a variety of places all over the world, including Shoji’s own coffee farm that he bought in Hawaii. When they are seasonal, you can also enjoy brews from the best coffee-growing countries like Guatemala and Ethiopia.
You can be sure to get a totally Instaworthy latte from the coffee shop, too. Shoji has recruited international award-winning latte art barista, Junichi Yamaguchi, as his global head barista, and Yamaguchi has been wowing customers worldwide with his intricate foam patterns.
