Tim Ho Wan opens their newest outlet in Lavender Aperia and we take a look at their new menu and old favourites
You can never have too much dim sum. We check out Tim Ho Wan’s new menu and found some hits and misses.
New menu, new tastes
I liked their Fried Potato Flour for its thick and warm paste, even though it was definitely too filling a dish as an appetizer. The crunchiness and the cheese paste provided a great mouthful. With that said, this is a dish I would probably add to my Tim Ho Wan must-haves.
Main star for the main course
The next on their menu is their Crispy Seafood Rice Hor Fun. It was a restaurant’s take on well-loved hawker favourite and I am sold. The cripsy seafood rice complemented the soup perfectly, whether it is poured over or dipped into. I personally prefer the latter. Additionally, I love the soft and tender prawns and the crisp factor of the noodles.
And we have the usuals
Their Pan Fried Dumplings were not a miss, but it was nothing outstanding. The skin was well done and the meat was suitably salted. There was an accompanying dip that I neglected. However, this is overall a dish that is not badly done, but just truly ordinary.
Indeed the classics
Their unmissable Baked Bun with BBQ Pork is entirely unmissable and if you still haven’t had it, I would urge you to make a reservation now and go. This dish was naturally the star of the menu. I am absolutely in love with the thick yet well-toasted crust, which provided a delicious touch to the flavourful, oozing BBQ pork in it.
Trust me, your dim sum experience will be incomplete without this.
