3. Kingdom of Rice

Merivale Group has opened a pop-up eatery in Mascot at the Tennyson Hotel called Kingdom of Rice, a collaboration with the team behind innovative restaurant ACME. The casual eatery serves up Cambodian-style street food in a space inspired by the bustle of Phnom Penh markets, with brightly-draped tables laden with melamine plates, red chopsticks and house-made pickles. Mitch Orr, head chef of ACME said, “Phnom Penh is a sensory overload. There’s laughter and noise and people everywhere, the smell of food cooked over charcoal, colours of fresh tropical fruits and an amazing sense of community.”
