Singapore Cocktail Festival 2017 returns from 16 to 21 Mar, and with it, comes a six day calendar of masterclasses, cocktail competitions, festival village and more.

Built around the theme “Taste, Learn and Play”, the festival aims to showcase bartending talents and let cocktail enthusiasts discover more about the drinks they love.

1. International guest bartenders

This year, the festival will be curating the best cocktail experiences from around the world and bringing them to our Little Red Dot.

The star-studded line-up of guest bartenders will span from New York to Kuala Lumpur, including head bartenders from The Pontiac in Hong Kong, Matt Whiley of Peg + Patriot in London, Naren Young of Dante in New York and more.

Who knows, you might just bump into them at the various cocktail parties during the festival!

2. Quirky, creative cocktails

Creative and unusual cocktails are almost a given, as bartenders aim to raise the bar each year.

This time round, Asian-inspired cocktails continue to take centerstage, such as the Uncle Negroni ($14) by Mitzo Restaurant & Bar.

The cocktail is prepared with red dates-infused Jenever, vermouth, orange bitters and aged in an oak barrel for one month.

Gin lovers should look out for Cin Cin and their series of four G&Tea cocktails ($14) prepared with tea-infused artisanal gins.

If you fancy something unusual, visit 28 HongKong Street. They’ll be releasing special bottled cocktails ($23) that have been aged in wood barrels since 2011.
