Copper orange is all the rage this year, as AkzoNobel explains with their fashion and makeup demonstrations
AkzoNobel introduces the Color of the Year, copper orange! We were stoked to see how they incorporated it into their daily lives. The event was a 3-part one that covered using the color in your wardrobe, to your makeup palette to your every own homes.
Here are the highlights:
In your wardrobe
They introduced quite a few outfit changes on both their models, Sofia from Asia’s Next Top Model and international model Young Kim. I particularly loved the color on Sofia – it was feminine and sweet, aiding it creating a svelte, girlish figure when she tried on the dresses.
As a print and more
Young Kim pulled off a more formal look with the shirt buttoned up. Upon close up, we see hints of copper orange and dark blue in the prints of the shirt. Celebrity stylist Jerome Awasthi reminds us that this color is a secondary one, which makes for great complementing with any color.
Hits and misses
While I maintain that this color is still quite an eyesore for me on guys, I would say I have a new-found love for it and would probably start getting some copper orange in my wardrobe real soon! Being the hue between pink and orange, it is really a soft combination of girlish and playful.
I probably would still prefer my men in black, blue and grays!
In your makeup palette
I am highly conservative when it comes to my makeup palette so it was a bold move (at least for me!) to try copper orange instead of my usual neutrals. As it turns out, it does bring out my contacts better! The makeup artist insisted my hair looked redder subsequently too but it looks pretty the same to me.
Are you hyped about copper orange yet?
