Have a boozy Sunday brunch with Manhattan’s new Weekend Cocktail Brunch. Adults Only
I’m usually not keen on Sunday brunch buffets, as that usually means loud families with unruly children scooting around the restaurant with no restraint from their parents. So when Manhattan bar at Regent Hotel started its adults-only cocktail brunch, I was sold!
Manhattan pays tribute to the New York tradition of festive weekend brunches, which are available every Sunday from 11:30am to 3:30pm at $150. It includes free-flow cocktails, wine, and beer. An additional $45 can be added for champagne.
No Kids Allowed
Manhattan in itself is an experience with its 1920’s speakeasy décor, which results in different stations, some hidden in its apothecary-like rooms. When you first walk in, help yourself to a boozy, welcomed drink and a do-it-yourself Bloody Mary. Or perhaps you’d like to try the impressive array of American cheeses in the next room.
Other buffet stations include freshly shucked oysters, fresh lobsters and crabs, as well as salads and cold cuts. True to New York, there is a station filled with mini-bagels and a large variety of cream cheeses. There are also a la minute items from the kitchen such as Smoked Foie Gras and NY Strip.
Desserts are also not to be missed, as the colourful counter is filled with items such as monkey bread and whoopee pies.
Boozy Brunch
If you like your tipples, the cocktails at Manhattan are top-notch. The Bartender’s Breakfast is a tea infused Aylesbury Duck vodka libation with green chartreuse, honey water, fresh lemon, and seltzer water. It’s a great way to start off your meal. But my favourite is the smoky Old Cuban with Plantation Original Dark Rum.
This brunch certainly packs quite a punch!
