It is almost as if Taman Negara was designed to be enjoyed for eternity – its diversity is stunning and its beauty unequalled
In Malaysia, there is a place so unique that nature jealously guarded its beauty for more than 130 million years. Taman Negara is the ultimate paradise to see unspoiled beauty and to discover the ancient heartbeat of our planet.
Visiting this absolute gem with the oldest rainforests in the world is an experience like no other. Here, you see a blueprint of the planet as it was intended to be. It is almost like stepping back in time, before humans even arrived on the scene.
This area is a never-ending play, where rare animals take centre stage. The backdrop is a stunningly-beautiful landscape with abundant birdlife providing the music, the soundtrack of Mother Nature.
Conquer the Jungle
Taman Negara is a park of more than 4,300 square miles in the Titiwangsa Mountain Range of the Malaysian peninsula. It offers much for the tourist.
The park is a mountain climbing adventure, water world, birdwatchers’ delight and wildlife sanctuary all rolled into one. There is enough fresh air and beauty for everyone.
The dense forest makes jungle trekking an exciting quest and several routes have been developed, ranging from short and relatively easy to extremely testing. Going on a trek with a guide is an educational adventure that everyone should experience.
From the Clouds to the Rivers
The canopy walk is an exceptionally rewarding experience. This suspension bridge of more than 500m, between the tree tops, offers spectacular views. There are also great photo opportunities here.
You can also take a leisurely boat ride on one of the rivers in the park and see the forest come alive around you. If you would like to be more daring in the water, try rapid shooting for a wild, wet ride of a lifetime.
Then, dive in for a swim in the clear water to round off the perfect nature experience.
Rare Beauties of the Wild
Visit a wildlife observation hide and stay for the night. Some rare species such as the Malayan Gaur, Indochinese Tiger, Malayan Tapir and Sumatran Rhinoceros inhabit the park.
The more than 350 species of birds will set the hearts of birdwatchers racing. They can admire Blue-eared Barbets, Rhinoceros Hornbills and Thick-billed Pigeons, among numerous others.
The park is also a true paradise if you like fishing, especially from February to September. There are various great fishing packages available.
Overall, Taman Negara is a park where you can truly become one with nature. Admiring a place of natural beauty is one thing; living it is a unique experience.
Taman Negara offers you all of this and much more. Put on your adventurer’s cap and start the adventure.
