“American Boy” singer Estelle speaks to us before flying here for the Podium Lounge F1 after-party
In 2008, bouncy British hit “American Boy” launched English singer Estelle to superstardom – it’s that one song that, try as you may, you can’t forget the lyrics and infectious tune of.
Since then, Estelle has enjoyed other successes with her latest seductive single, “Make Her Say (Beat It Up)”, as well as TV stints with popular animated series “Steven Universe” and hit US drama “Empire”.
On 18 Sep, she will be hitting up the star-studded Podium Lounge – which last year saw stars like Christian Nairn aka Hodor from “Game of Thrones” and Sky Blu of LMFAO.
Ahead of her arrival in Singapore, we throw five quick questions her way.
What have you been up to so far in 2016?
I’ve been working on new music, continuing with “Steven Universe” and developing television and cartoon content on top of my touring commitments.
You performed during the F1 after-party in 2014, what was that experience like?
It was a lot of fun in Singapore. The F1 crowd in most cities just like to party.
You collaborate with lots of different artists; who has been your favourite collaboration so far?
My fave has been Rick Ross so far. He is one of my favorite rappers!
What’s going to be different about your performance this year?
You have to be at The Podium Lounge to see!
What are your plans for the future?
I’m working on my fifth studio album and am excited to release new music soon. I’m also continuing the expansion of my brands: Established 1980 (music TV and films) and Estelle Presents, as well as my retail company Elle-Vie – Elle-Vie.com check ’em out! – and stay tuned to my music!
