Fiji is the stuff that inspires movies. In fact, the legendary Blue Lagoon (1980) that propelled Brooke Shields to fame was shot at Turtle Island in Fiji. The iridescence of the Fijian waters, the powdery texture of the sand and the lush, idyllic beauty of the tropical forests on land set the standard for all castaway-type of movies. Getting There
Since Fiji Airways launched their non-stop, twice-weekly service from Singapore, getting to paradise has become easier for those of us based here. The Airbus 330-200 will get you to Fiji in about 10 hours on the Airbus 330-200. Economy Class has 249 seats with a 32 inch pitch, 7.5-inch recline seating, and 10.6-inch personal monitors. The crew is friendly and attentive, just like most Fijians. From the mainland of Nadi, where the international airport serving the Singapore-Nadi flights is, you can hop onto a seaplane serviced by Pacific Island Air to get you to the Yasawa Islands.
