Dense forestry conceals the magical Melissani Cave, located in the island of Greece’s Kefolonia. The geographical phenomenon is said to be a place of worship, dedicated to Nympth Mekissani who took her own life when the God of Wild, Pan, rejected her love for him. She took her life by plunging into the cave’s gaping roof and into the lake, turning its waters so clear that exploring boats appear to float in the air.
