9. Live like a Local

Want to experience what it feels like to live in a local Burmese village? Then Dala Village, will be your best bet. Take a 15 minutes ferry ride(USD$4) from the Pansodan Pier to the fishing village located at the outskirts of Yangon.

Similar to the Circular Train, peddlers will come onboard to sell their wares, turning the ferry into a mini floating market.

A piece of advice – be knowledgeable about the prices of the services and products as there may be attempts from the locals to jack up their prices to almost five times higher than the market rate. Other scams include guilt tripping foreigners into purchasing rice for the poor.
