Pagodas are a common sight in Buddhist majority Yangon. For those looking for the  iconic pagodas of all, the Shwedagon Pagoda is the place to be. The most sacred, and majestic of them all, this 2,500 years old pagoda is rumoured to have been around even during the lifetime of numerous Buddhas, with it enshrining sacred relics of at least the past four of them.
